Bixby Knolls play heavy, conscious guitar pop. They seem to have a faithful coterie of followers who were quite familiar with their songs. Their lead singer plays with a confident nonchalance while emotionally interacting with the crowd through the music, a prerequisite for any successful frontman. Their sound is of the UK rock tradition, a mélange of The Clash, The La’s and Echo and the Bunnymen. While they might not reinvent the wheel, there’s definitely a good bit of traction on their musical tires!blahblahblahscience

Harlan || Listen
Harlan was born in New York City and trained in classical music by the age of 4. At 6 he moved to Los Angeles with his mother and father, a musical composer and conductor. Harlan attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he majored in music production and engineering. After realizing that he was spending more time working on music for himself than the classroom, he dropped out and headed back to LA. Harlan writes, produces and plays all the instruments on his recordings. He’s released two albums under his middle name “Alex” as ∏ of the duo Alex & Sam, and has written and performed on songs heard on Private Practice, ABC’s Castle and various VH1 shows. Harlan is currently at work on his debut solo album in his Silver Lake studio and performing around the Los Angeles area with his live band.
